LAWYERS OBJECT
TO FEDERAL RULE
Kootenai Bar Association
Protests Serving as Defense Council Free.
COEUR D'ALENE, Dec. 21. —
(Special.)—The Kootenai County
Bar association yesterday passed
resolutions protesting against the
prevailing system under which attorneys are compelled to defend
cases in the federal court without
fees. The association requests legislation permitting district judges to
appoint public defenders or pay
private attorneys.
A committee composed of J. Ward
Arney, Robert H. Elder and Ezra
H. Whitla will present the resolution to the congressional delegation.
