CEMETERY AREA
MAY ORGANIZE
Three-Community Incorporation Is Talked—Hospital
Bond Vote Scheduled.
MOSCOW, Idaho, June 29.—A
cemetery maintenance district embracing three communities in
southern Latah county probably
will be formed within the week.
The communities are the towns of
Genesee, Genesee valley and Thorn
Creek, all now maintaining separate cemeteries.
It will be the second such asso-
ciation proposed in the county since
the 1937 legislature broadened the
association enabling act.
The first was for the Viola-Rock
Creek district. Petitions in the
hands of county commissioners require an election for creation of
the district, which would be similar to highway and good road districts.
The commissioners set the election for July 28 at the Viola school-
house. John Q. Hill, Viola, is promoting the organization of the
Genesee program.
School May Buy Bus.
Because bids for transportation
of grade and high school students
to Moscow were declared high, the
Viola school board is contemplating the purchase of a bus, said
County Superintendent David
Ross. Viola recently decided to send
its students, about 20, to Moscow
next year.
Hospital Election Set.
The county commissioners set
July 28 for an election on the proposal to issue not to exceed $175,000
to construct a 50-bed county general hospital.
At the Methodist parsonage this
morning Hans Jensen, Ellensburg,
Wash., and Vada Shove, Bovili,
Idaho, were marreid by the Rev.
Dr. H. F. Pemberton.
Hugo Walser and Dorothy Blood,
Potlatch, received a marriage license.
