The influenza situation took on a much brighter aspect yesterday, judging from the reports received at the city health office. The death list, however, due to the large increase of cases reported in the last week, continued heavy and is the expected to be large for several days. Dr. Anderson More Hospital.: Yesterday's new cases made a total of 9286, but Dr. John B. Anderson, city health officer, who estimates at least two cases to every one reported, believes that 20,000 would be nearer the mark. Dr. Anderson said he felt encouraged, but that it was too early yet to say that the second influenza outbreak had taken a permanent turn for the better.
