Flu Death List Takes Big Drop: Only Two Victims of Epidemic Reported Up to Midnight Last Night.: Lowest Record In Weeks: Infact Daughter of Hillyard Couple and Charles Matthison Succumb.
Only two deaths from influenza occurred in Spokane and Hillyard for the 24 hours ended at 12 o'clock last night, the lowest record in several weeks. Charles Matthison, age 31, a farm laborer, died at the influenza hospital. He had no known relatives except an uncle, whose name could not be learned, living at Post Falls, Idaho. The funeral will be held from Smith & co.'s at 10 o'clock this morning, the Rev. Mr. Arman officiating. The eight-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Anderson, 710 Regal street, Hillyard, died yesterday afternoon. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon from the New England rooms in Hillyard.
