Six Carried To Death In Alaska's Worst Air Crash
Parents' Death Kept From Lou Ann, In Hospital
(/P)~Lou Ann Makle smiled a bright "hello'" at her nurse in the Shriners hospital for crinpled children today.
Outside, dark, funeral skies discolored the day, as if to match the sorrow which gripped those who attended the 10-year-old child, but
across their faces they forced responsive smiles to the wistful cheerfulness of the little girl.
Lou Ann was not to know. Others sturdier than she would carry for the moment the burden of a tragic story—the death of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geroge Markle, in an airplane crash in Alaska.
A kindly hospital superintendent, Miss L. E. Humphrey, and the child's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward R. Rayssen, mother and father of Mrs. Markle, learned wht they hoped and feaed would not be true—that the missing airplane had crashed.
