Indian woman, 118, loses friend. - Mrs. Agatha Timothy, who claims to be 118 years old, mourned the death this week of her comrade in the Steptoe war, Mrs. Mattie Gary, who died at De Smet, Idaho, at the reported age of 110. Mrs. Gary was a cousin of Chief Spokane Gary. She was buried in the Protestant cemetery at Worley. Mrs. Timothy is shown here with one of the Sisters of Charity from the convent of Mary Immaculate. They helped condole the aged Indian. |
