Description on verso of image reads, "View 1, 3/4 miles above the point by Indian graves in crevices and 3/4 mile above present crossing, and one mile below Starbuck, looking south, showing the site of the old Crossing used by Wright in 1858 as the military road - It was at this crossing that Chief Owhi tried to make his escape and was killed near here in a culdesac along the base of the hills." |
