Description
In the spring of 1908 , Mr . F . H . Towne and his wife , Margaret , moved to Okanogan from McHenry , North Dakota (as did Okanogan's first Mayor , Harry J . Kerr) . By December , Towne had a stock of jewelry on display and was awaiting the arrival of showcases for his glassware and Christmas gifts . Within the next year he added pianos and sheet music to his store's stock . Here he is seen at the left , near a wall of clocks . An employee stands on the right , next to a wall of fine china .
