Description
Completed by November 1910 , the construction of Okanogan's steel cantilever bridge took only a year , but provided long-term advantages . For approximately $10,500 dollars Okanogan was now connected to the Tunk Creek area , the Gold Creek mining country , the Marcus D . Mines , the Mission and the southern half of the Colville Indian Reservation across the river to the east . The Great Northern Railroad also planned to build their depot nearby . The size of the bridge was built to accommodate the tallest steamboat ferries on the Okanogan River .
