Description
In April 1910 , Mr . George Major , the Great Northern Railroad's chief engineer for the Oroville to Wenatchee line , moved his crew into town . They made Okanogan their camp headquarters for a week or so as they completed their grading work , preparing the land for the laying of the tracks . Delays kept the tracks being laid for two more years . The men are standing near the Schaller Block on Second Avenue . The sign on the left reads "Commercial Bank ".
