Description
Matsura called this picture the "Slip Gang " in a collage he made showcasing work done on the Elgin Canyon Road . The road , a pet project of the Okanogan Commercial Club , was hoped to create a shortcut to town for orchardists living near Shell Rock Point further north towards Omak . The front five workers from left to right are: Roy McCampbell (local general decorator , mortician and County Coroner) , JR Everett , George S . Lee and Charles A. Johnson (lawyers) , and Harry Stark (at one time the city treasurer , clerk , water superintendent , marshal and County Sheriff) .

Original photographic prints were scanned as 300 dpi TIFF files on a Microtek 9600XL scanner. 72 dpi JPEG files were then added to the CONTENT database at the WSU Libraries.
