Description
Matsura stands on a hill overlooking the east bank of the Okanogan River to take this shot of the west side and the town of Okanogan . The steel bridge is included in the picture . Built in 1910 , the cantilever style bridge became useful once tourists and Okanogan enthusiasts used the railroad as a part of their travel to lands east of the river . Opened to white settlement by 1915 , the area was used long before this for excellent camping , fishing and hunting .
