Description
In May , 1909 , Mr . Ray F . McCampbell designed and painted a business sign for the Pioneer Realty Company owned by the Duley Brothers . The sign was fourteen feet long and showed Uncle Sam standing next to a Johnathan apple and a cornucopia . McCampbell and his partner , George Armstrong , were painters , wallpaperers , and decorators . They also were undertakers and handled the funeral services and embalming needs of the community . McCampbell , a trained professional mortician , became the County Coroner in 1911 .
