Description
A family stands with a string of birds , shot during a recent hunt on their vacation in the mountains . The father and mother hold the birds , while a little girl and small boy hold the shotguns . Camping was a popular summer pastime to enjoy the outdoors and relax away from the scorching heat of the city . Among the more used camping areas were in the mountains behind the town of Conconully , along both branches of Salmon River , the Sinlahekin and Touts Coula Rivers , Loomis , Loop Loop Creek , Omak Creek and Moses Meadows . Many of the areas could not be accessed by wagon and required pack horses .

Original photographic prints were scanned as 300 dpi TIFF files on a Microtek 9600XL scanner. 72 dpi JPEG files were then added to the CONTENT database at the WSU Libraries.
