Description
An engineer of the United States Reclamation Service takes a survey of the land in what will become the core of the Conconully Dam . Two other men stand near him. Behind them looms the main dirt flume , bringing sluiced rock materials from a nearby borrow pit . The rock travels by means of hydraulic pressure to the site , and is pushed out wherever side shoots allow , as shown . The Chief Engineer during this phase of the project was Mr . Christian Andersen .
