Description
The Conconully Dam's embankments almost complete , workers scale the slope , picking out vegetable matter and loose dirt in an effort to make the wall as impervious to water as possible . Note the three men standing on top of the dam . This narrow strip is known as the core , and is filled with silt , fine sand , and rock-fill sluiced from the borrow pits . Note : The original photograph has been torn on the right side .
