Spectators gather around as General Hazard A. Stevens speaking at the unveiling of the A.J . Bolon monument . This monument was dedicated on November 6 , 1918 to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the death of A. J . Bolen , an Indian agent killed by Yakama Indians , September 1855 . From the back of the photograph , "General Hazard A. Steven's historic address at the unveiling of the A.J . Bolon monument ; November 6 . 1918 . Like Chief Sluskin at the unveiling of the Tow-tow Na-he monument one year before , Gen . Steven here made his last address . He died within the week. "

Digitization
Original photographic prints were scanned at 24 bit color, with 3000 pixels by the long side, for master TIFF files on an Epson Expression 10,000 XL scanner. Prints were then scanned at 24 bit, with 600 pixels by the long side, as jpeg files. These JPEGs were then added to the CONTENTdm database at WSU Libraries.
