Description
hímiin maqsmáqs (Yellow Wolf) helped build a tim’úuni (rifle) pit next to this white house . On verso of photograph : "Showing the "white house " mentioned in Yellow Wolf's description of opening fight battlefield of the Clearwater . Shows country northwest of main battlefield . A canyon down which a road lead to the Clearwater valley a mile or two to the left . It was a considerable distance to left of the farm building , to point of the mountain from which the first alarm from cannon shot was heard ".

Digitization
Original photographic prints were scanned at 24 bit color, with 3000 pixels by the long side, for master TIFF files on an Epson Expression 10,000 XL scanner. Prints were then scanned at 24 bit, with 600 pixels by the long side, as jpeg files. These JPEGs were then added to the CONTENTdm database at WSU Libraries.
