Description	This newspaper clipping features Mrs. Hannah Holmes' casting her first vote at the age of 94 years. A triumph for advocates of suffrage in the territory of Washington, the law was amended to include women's right to vote in 1910, with the first election held in 1912. General T.R. Tannatt included a personal note with this clipping in his wife Elizabeth's scrapbook reading, "A dear old friend... (the rest is illegible)." It is clear that both husband and wife shared in the victory of women's rights in this first election in the territory of Washington.
